HIGH STREET INVADED BY ZOMBIES
Story and photos by Ben McMillen owner of McMillen Photography
If you were anywhere near downtown Waynesburg on October 26th, 2017 as the sun began to set and the street lights flickered on you may have noticed things got a little spooky. Strange sounds bounced off the old brick buildings as the sky turned from dark blue to pitch black. Families lined the sidewalks to see what was brewing.
Everyone's attention turned towards the center of the street as what appeared to be dozens of dead souls were ready to take over the city. Were we doomed?
After a little investigating it turns out the spooky sounds were being played over a PA system as dancers from "In Motion Dance & Fitness" in full zombie attire were getting ready to perform the Thriller Dance!
A group of about 45 students as young as 5 years old with their teachers from In Motion Dance Studio have been practicing for weeks to put on this free performance right after the annual Halloween Parade.
The students hard work paid off as the crowd absolutely loved it! Below is the evidence we collected....
In Motion opened their doors in 2009 and have always enjoyed providing entertainment for several holiday events downtown. In Motion offers all styles of dance including ballet, acro, pointe, tap, contemporary, jazz and hip hop. For fitness they offer a variety of classes including TRX, blended Yoga/Pilates/Stretch, Step, Resistance, Strength and Cardio Dance/Drums. In Motion has a 30-minute circuit series as well.
